FIFA World Cup 2010 : Paraguay advance only 3 goals

FIFA World Cup 2010 Paraguay creates own history when finished in Quarter-finals for the first time since 1930. They lost to Spain 1-0 after lead group F and win over Japan in Round 16. It was 8th appearance with 4th consecutive time in FIFA World Cup.

Paraguay also make own pride when leading Group F even though pool with former Champions Italy. During qualifiers of South America they finished third with 10 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses. Salvador Cabanas was their top scorer in qualifiers with 6 goals out of 15 matches. Justo Villar, Paulo Da Silva, Cristian Riveros and Nelson Valdez are among regular player for their team with 17 matches.

Paraquay with the absent of Salvador Cabanas due to suffering gunshot wound to his head still continue their brilliant to reach quarter-finals. This is their best achievement so far after finished round 16 for 3 times in 1986, 1998 and 2002.

Ironically they finished in South Africa only a wins, 3 draws including against Japan and a lost. They also have 3 goals through out the tournament scored by Antolin Alcaraz, Enrique Vera and Cristian Riveros.
