FIFA World Cup 2010 : Ghana - blackstars

Ghana joins with Cameroon and Senegal advance until quarter-finals in FIFA World Cup for Africa zone representative. They lost to Uruguay in dramatic match when Asamoah Gyan misses penalty kick in extra time. The result was 1-1 in full time but penalty shout they lost 2-4.

During qualification stages Matthew Amoah and Agogo was top scorer with 5 and 4 goals respectively. Richard Kingson, John Pantsil, Eric Addo, Anthony Annan and Michael Essien were regular player for the team with play for over 11 matches. They qualify to finals with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 lose.

Asamoah Gyan becomes top scorer for Ghana with 3 goals in FIFA World Cup 2010 even though he not scored any goal during qualification. Ghana finished second in group D behind Germany and win over USA 2-1 before lost to Uruguay in Quarter-finals.

It was second time Ghana appearance in FIFA World Cup when last time in FIFA World Cup 2006. In 2006 they finished until Round 16 but lost to Brazil. However in African cup of nations they have stunning achievement with 4 title (1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982) and finished second place in African cup of Nations 2010.
